Self-Evaluation

 

The taster activities are sample tasks and questions designed to help prospective students evaluate the extent and manner of their interest in the academic study of English-language literatures, linguistics, and cultural theories, and will offer them a chance to see their English language competence in action.

Students are expected to have a very good command of English upon entry into any program offered at the RWTH English Department. From day one, students are required to read and understand challenging English texts on linguistics as well as literary, cultural, and teaching-related topics and theories.

The result achieved in the taster activities will not influence the application process. The activities are meant to provide realistic feedback on your abilities and interests and thus enable you to make an informed decision on your course of studies. Accordingly, we encourage prospective students to complete them without outside help.
