"Academic Work" is used to refer to the abilities to solve a problem systematicly and independently, using appropriate academic methods and enganging critically with the research that has already been conducted, as well as to present the resulting findings in a diligent, clear and aim-directed manner. While these abilities are central to any course of studies, their acquisition often poses a great challenge to students.This collection of materials now has a double focus: to help you learn and strenghten your abilities, but also to clarify what is expected of you when you conduct academic research.

 

Guidelines for Academic Work

Though the basic principles of academic research and writing are the same across different fields of study, there may be special discourses and rules for individual discipline. It is important to know both common features and differences. Therefore, we offer two separate guidelines for papers in linguistics and literary studies.
