Visiting PhD Researcher
Annelie Ott is a PhD-student at the University in Oslo, visiting the Linguistic and Cognitive Semiotics group of RWTH Aachen in the winter semester 2021. She is interested in semiotics of education and in sustainability issues. In her PhD-project Being Human in the Anthropocene. Ideas in Social Studies Education she studies how social studies as a school subject frames human being and learning for sustainability. How we narrate human being influences how we approach matters of sustainability, e.g. how we define them and try to deal with them in and through education. The theoretical framework for the study is grounded in Peircean semiotics.
