Systemic Functional Linguistics Pre-Congress Institute, in conjunction with the 42nd ISFC at RWTH Aachen, Germany, July 23rd – 25th, 2015

Wednesday, July 22, 2015, 1:00pm

Five courses are offered in total and participants enrol for one morning and one afternoon course. There are no restrictions on what combinations may be taken, but Gerard O’Grady’s course on Intonation as a Cohesive Device would link with either Tom Bartlett’s course on Textuality: Small Chunks and Big Chunks or Christian Matthiessen’s courses on Rhetorical Structure Theory; similarly, Lise Fontaine’s Participants, Theme and the nominal group in writing: An introduction to Systemic Functional Linguistics and Heidi Byrnes’s course Fostering FL Writing Development in Collegiate Education: An SFL Approach are designed to integrate to some degree.

All courses are offered in English.
