Monday, September 03, 2018, 12:00am
+++ IMPORTANT +++
The venue for the Summer School is a little hard to find. The buildng is called "SemiTemp", and you can find a detailed map here.
Coming from the main street "Templergraben", you have turn into a cobble-stone street called "Schinkelstraße". The building on your left hand is the Departure for Architecture. ~100m into Schinkelstraße, it has a glass frontwith a door. You can cross through the building to reach SemiTemp, or walk around it.
The goal of the 5th LinC Summer School and Workshop is to offer training and scholarship in both understanding the Systemic Functional Linguistic, or SFL, theory of language and applying it to real-world challenges. This year it will focus on register and context.
The summer school will offer three courses, a poster session, and one-on-one consultation time. All courses are suitable for professionals, students, and researchers who have an interest in learning more about SFL, register, or context. It is open to all!

There are many different accommodation options available in Aachen, including sharing with our local student and staff members, who have made rooms available. If you would like to take part in this option, please send us an email with the subject line "re: share accommodation".
If you prefer to find your own accommodation, you can search online using various websites. There is a full range of rooms available around the city and within a short distance from the university, from both hotels / hostels (e.g. via booking.com) and private (e.g. AirBnB).
The summer school will be held at RWTH Aachen University.
Courses, poster session and registration will be held in the SemiTemp Building.
Aachen is not serviced by an airport, however, there is a very good rail service that includes local and international rail options.
